Whether you're looking for active adventure, scenic views, or just a few days of relaxation, Rangeley has something for everyone... all year long. Here are some activities that we'll gladly help you plan:
Sightseeing
Smack in the middle of a National Scenic Byway, Rangeley is close to some of the region's most spectacular views. Visit the Height of Land and Noyes Overlook on Route 17 to take in some awe-inspiring scenery, or venture to the new 360-degree lookout at Quill Hill, off Route 16. In summer take a break at Smalls Falls to swim in the "bottomless" pools created by this forested cascade. For a unique perspective, take a sea-plane tour of the region or rent a boat and cruise Rangeley Lake. Looking for moose or other wildlife? Hire a guide for the best chance of an awe-inspiring experience.
Arts & Heritage
The Rangeley region offers numerous galleries and shops featuring the works of local artisans, a theater to showcase local talent, and an ongoing array of festivals, parades, and events. Visitors may also learn more about Rangeley's unique heritage through a visit to the renowned Outdoor Heritage Museum, the Maine Forestry Museum, or the Wilhelm Reich Museum.
Hiking
From modest forest trails to rock scrambles at 4,000 feet, the Rangeley Lakes region has some of the Northeast's best hikes. Climb to the summit of Saddleback and The Horn for impressive views, check out the fire tower atop Bald Mountain, or stroll through forests and along the lakeshore. The Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust maintains several trail networks in the region.
Kayaking & Canoeing
With countless pristine lakes, ponds and waterways, the Rangeley Lakes Region is a paddler's dream. Borrow our kayaks for an hour long paddle on Haley Pond, or join an organized ride on one of many rivers and lakes. We can also offer route suggestions if you wish to bring your own kayaks.
Wellness & Relaxation
Decompress in a serene natural setting. Rangeley's Health & Wellness Center is a well equipped modern facility with dramatic views of Rangeley Lake. The region also features several venues for yoga, as well as spa services and massage. Mountain Miracles Med Spa is one such option, just a block from us on Main Street.
Hunting & Fishing
Rangeley offers numerous opportunities for hunting and fishing. We can direct you to guide services, boat rentals, and places to secure a fishing license. Haley Pond, off our backyard, is stocked regularly and is a great spot for beginners to test their skills.

Nordic Skiing, Snowshoeing, Fat-Biking
Cross-country ski, snowshoe and fat-bike enthusiasts will enjoy the 34+ miles of mapped and maintained trails at the Rangeley Lakes Trails Center, which hosts several races throughout the winter season. Numerous backcountry trails in Rangeley and Oquossoc are accessible during winter, and Maine Huts & Trails also maintains a trail network 40 minutes away in Carrabassett Valley.
